Jumping Jack Bull Ant / Myrmecia pilosula Colony / queen + 10+ workers.

Availability: Sold Out

Affectionately referred to as the jack jumping bull ant due to its unique ability to jump when alarmed or catching prey.

This smaller species of bull ant possesses a very painful and venomous sting and should only be attempted by expert ant keepers.

As a diurnal species they are very active during the day and colonies in the wild can have multiple queens.

Colony numbers can exceed 4,000.

Ant keepers tend to have more success when keeping this species in a natural sand/dirt nest, allowing the queen to dig her own founding chamber.
